Same frame, different images
Description
Inspired by the “Quantum Cloud” series by British sculptor Antony Gormley. I made two simple rules. 1. One click makes four cracks on the screen, like cracks on glass. 2. A new crack is limited by existing cracks. Audience made their own pictures within this framework.

As in Gormley’s works, I had implemented Cracked_Glass using a computer program which contained simple basic figures and rules so that participants could create their own results. The basic figure was derived from the bullet marks and cracks on glass. I made two simple rules. A click makes four cracks on the screen, like cracks on glass. A new crack’s path is limited by existing cracks. Since I initially considered the human figure as a result, I expected an abstract figure. However, some participants drew a flower or a puppy.
In this project, people also easily applied basic rules to express their own feelings. If there is no rule at all, and people are given a white screen and a mouse for marking dots, then they cannot play like this way because it is too common and boring.
