Searching “Digital Wheel Art”

I sometimes search “Digital Wheel Art” in the Internet.

I found a new article I haven’t seen before, although it was posted 2 years back.

My using small movements such as head tilts to change color and movement to draw lines, a disabled person can create art in a way they could not before. Sure, it’s no Van Gogh, but compared to nothing, it may be a catharsis that fully physically capable people may not always realize the value of.

Some comments are:

  • That is pretty awesome, I’m glad to see video games being used in innovative ways to help others.
  • It’s pretty cool that they are doing stuff like this as everyone should be able to express themselves through art in one form or another.
  • It’s always nice to hear ways that can improve the quality of life for sufferers of cerebral palsy and other serious disorders. Just living day today isn’t really enough and finding outlets to help them express themselves is in my opinion just as important as finding ways to extend their lifespans. Though obviously not as important as finding a cure.
  • That’s unbelievably fantastic. How come news agencies can’t carry stories like this, explaining the good that developments in video gaming can create.
  • I’m severely handicapped and was trying to become an artist before I got too weak.
  • Warm fuzzies indeed, major awesome points to YoungHyun Chung.
  • From an artistic perspective, I’d be fascinated if someone became skilled enough to paint pictures they were happy with. It’d provide a unique perspective that I’d certainly love to see.

I am working on similar theme in Pittsburgh. Using interactive digital media for people with disabilities. Not only for fun but has clinical and academic impact, I hope.

I’m not happy at all. If I keep thinking it was my biggest mistake ever that I left New York and came this city, there is a problem.

Carnegie Museum of Art

Before I settled down, I’ve been to the Carnegie Museum of Art whenever I visited Pittsburgh. Ironically, I couldn’t make time for this wonderful museum for six months. I love its collection and far less visitors compare to MoMA. I should come here at least once a month.

favorite composer

I’ve answered my favorite composer is Prokofiev for a long time. Pollini’s performance of his 7th Sonata introduced me to the world of classical music. I’ve been trying to listen all of his music pieces and attended concerts in New York whenever his music was played. Before I met Prokofiev, Schoenberg was the biggest impact. Somehow similar music with Schoenberg at least for me, György Kurtág became one of my favorite since his music was played by Berliner Philharmoniker and Simon Rattle. Because the name of Kurtág was unfamiliar to me, I went to the library to listen his music before the concert. The piece was Stele, Op. 33. I couldn’t find the recording, but a DVD of a practicing video and conversations between the conductor and the composer himself. I never forget the impress of the moment in the Carnegie Hall the day when I listened Kurtág’s music world. The concert won’t be able to be perfect if it was not the Berliner Philharmonic and Rattle.

Just- some scribble while I’m listening to Kurtág’s piano pieces in the middle of night. Wanna add that Kurtág and Schoenberg make me crazy and lead to the far far away from the normal world, I often listen to Mahler and Beethoven to keep myself in the reality.

As I understand for thirty years so far, life is love. If we say there are Eros, Philia, and Agape in love, I started it with Philia, loving family. Then, Agape, unconditional love since youth. Finally, Eros. But, it’s not easy to determine what each love means for me when I face a love.
